If you are looking for a holiday destination in Konkan away from all the crowds that popular beaches attract, Ajarle is just the right place for you.
Anjarle is around 200 kms away from Pune and may be reached within 4-5 hours. State transport buses are available from Pune. One can also use a local jeep or a rikshaw to get there from Dapoli
Located at a distance of 25 kms from Dapoli, Anjarle in Ratnagari District is a secluded village near an estuary of the river Jog. Popular for the temple of the "Kadyavarcha Ganpati", Anjarle not only offers a magnificent unspoiled beach but also the solitude that one often wishes to experience when on a holiday !
The beach in Anjarle which is at a walking distance from the village is one of the most picturesque in all of Konkan. With a background of palm and coconut trees, white sands and magnificent waves a sunset by the beach will definitely be etched in your memory forever. Take a walk down the beach - If you are lucky you might just spot a flock of seagulls or a sea turtles that are frequent visitors on this beach !
"Kadyavarcha Ganpati" is almost synonymous with Anjarle and this is what the village is best known for. Located atop a hill this magnificent Lord Ganesha temple is considered a “Jagrut Deiva Sthan”. The temple is unique because of the rare Ujvya Sondecha Ganpati idol. You can get a breathtaking view of the thick plantation of coconut trees, betel nut trees, Suvarnadurg Fort, blue sea and surrounding hills from the top. There is a pond in front of the temple where you can feed big fish and turtles. Beside the Ganesh temple there is also a small but beautiful temple of Lord Shiva. A motorable road is available right up to the temple or the more adventurous amongst you can climb your way to the top via stone stairs.

I happened to visit Anjarle by chance and instantly fell in love with the place. I love the peace and solitude it offers. The beach and the ‘vadis’ that is the fruit orchards serve you Konkan on a platter !Especially if you happen to visit the place in summer, although quiet humid you will have the additional treat of Alphanso mangoes, cashews and more !
Anjarle is my favourite place to visit in Konkan. I have been there on innumerable occasions and I just don’t seem to get enough of it !!! The place is truly addictive.
Locals are extremely friendly and provide great accommodation and food at extremely reasonable prices.
