Ghoradeshwar Caves & Temple is located on the old Mumbai-Pune highway. An ancient Shiva Mandir is situated on a hill top which is also lined with several caves carved out of huge rocks. There are around 350 steps to reach the temple which takes about 25 - 30 minutes to climb. Trekking enthusiasts can use the dirt tracks to reach the temple.
On reaching the temple a sense of peace can be experienced. You can feel the adventure if you go beyond the temple to the caves. The slope is steep and we have to hols our breath to cross the section to reach the caves. A beautiful panaromic view can be seen from the top. You can see the old as well as the new highway and a breathtaking view of the city below. The wind flows in gusts making it a wonderful place to spend a leisurely evening.
Its a really nice place. One can get the view of bith highways from the temple. U could also see the railway track. One most important thing is it takes approx 20 to 30 min walking. Some of the climbing portion has plain and no steps. So to old age people its a adventuras and dangerous place.
