A beach lover’s paradise, Tarkarli is a beautiful coastal village famous for its white sands, crystal-clear water, water sports and delectable seafood.

Tarkarli is a small beach settlement in the well known and oft visited Malvan region of Konkan.

Named after the Kurli river by which the village is located, Tarkarli in Sindhudurg district is a beach lovers paradise.

It is best known for its beautiful beaches lined with Suru trees. One can see sailboats floating merrily in the adjoining river. These sights and many others portray the natural beauty of Konkan. to the fullest.

Take a boat ride into the open sea and if your lucky there is a really good chance of spotting dolphins. If not, the merry boat ride is none the less a great experience. Tarkarli is emerging as a hub for water sports in Maharashtra with a wide range of activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling and parasailing.

Tarkarli is located at a distance of 388 kms from Pune and the best way to get there by road is via Kolhapur.

Kudal station is an hour and fifteen minutes away from Tarkarli and connects Tarkarli to the Konkan Railway route.

Malvan is the closest major town as well as the Taluka headquarters and buses, rikshaws and taxis are easily available from Malvan to Tarkarli.

Since this has now become a popular destination a number of hotels restaurants, homestays and beach resorts are now found in Tarkarli. They provide comfortable accommodation and a delicious authentic Malvani cuisine! While in Tarkarli you can visit Nivati fort, Burnt Island, Vengurla rocks as well as the adjoining beach destinations of Devbaug and Goa.
